Over the last decade California’s Central Coast has emerged as a world-class region for pinot noir and chardonnay, mostly from vineyards situated in cooler areas around Santa Barbara, and especially from hillside sites closer to the Pacific Ocean. Up north, in the Paso Robles area, there’s considerable excitement over wines made from Rhône Valley varieties, especially syrah. Read more here…
